On a field tour.. Minister of the Public Business Sector inspects the development work of El Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company and the new production lines in partnership with the private sector

As part of the ongoing field tours to follow up on the progress of work in companies and to monitor the stages of implementing development projects, the training plan, improving employee performance, increasing production, supporting industry, localizing modern technology, and the status of partnership projects with the local and foreign private sector, Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of the Public Business Sector, conducted an inspection tour this morning, Tuesday, inside the Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company, which included various production lines and sheds, including the assembly line, paint and welding cabins, stencils, manufacturing stages, and bus production equipment. He followed up on the manufacturing processes of the bus and minibus, and the implementation of new production lines within the framework of the development plan witnessed by the company in cooperation with a local private sector company and another Chinese one. Dr. Mahmoud Esmat reviewed the executive position of the partnership projects with the private sector and the production steps so far regarding the new deals to market buses, minibuses and new vehicles that will be produced through the partnership projects. Dr. Esmat listened to an explanation from Eng. Khaled Shedid, the company’s executive managing director, regarding the position of the recent agreements that were signed with a number of foreign companies working in the field of manufacturing buses, commercial and private vehicles, as well as the marketing efforts for the new bus that the company produced, which is environmentally friendly with a local component percentage exceeding 60% according to the latest European emission standards, and the position of new contracts in favor of a number of local entities and companies, within the framework of the ministry’s efforts and endeavors to revive the company and keep pace with global development by shifting to the use of clean energy by producing environmentally friendly vehicles, in line with the state’s plan to localize the automobile industry. Dr. Mahmoud Esmat confirmed that there is support and follow-up from the political leadership to localize the automotive industry and revive and operate El Nasr Company and its possession of the latest technologies, pointing to an integrated plan to develop and rehabilitate “El Nasr Automotive” that includes updating current production lines and adding new production lines to produce electric vehicles of various sizes, and that there are positive indicators and contracts that have been signed, and advanced stages in other ongoing negotiations with a number of international companies with the aim of transferring and localizing vehicle manufacturing technology, especially electric vehicles, pointing to the ministry’s constant endeavor to partner with the private sector in implementing various projects, including localizing the automotive industry, and opening the way for private investment, whether local or foreign, to cooperate in this regard.
Dr. Mahmoud Esmat explained that El Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company recently succeeded in concluding several deals to market its product of locally manufactured, environmentally friendly buses that were manufactured according to European standards in line with the state’s strategy to localize the automotive industry and shift towards using clean energy, pointing out that this bus has started operating experimentally within the transportation system within the administrative capital in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport. It is worth noting that El Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company was established in 1960 and is one of the largest companies in the automotive industry. It returned from liquidation in 2016, and the Engineering Automotive Manufacturing Company merged with it in 2022 with the aim of establishing a strong entity specialized in producing and manufacturing various types of vehicles.
