Minister of the Public Business Sector Inspects Development Projects at Al-Nasr Automotive Company and the Production Process at the Commercial Vehicle Factory
Engineer Mohammed Sheimi, the Minister of the Public Business Sector, visited Al-Nasr Automotive Company—affiliated with the Holding Company for Metal Industries in the Wadi Hof area in Helwan—on Tuesday.
The minister began the visit with a meeting to review the current status of reviving and developing Al-Nasr Automotive Company, modernizing its production lines, the work plan, the future vision, the targeted production capacities, and the plan for utilizing available assets. The meeting was attended by Engineer Mohammed Al-Saadawi, the CEO of the Holding Company for Metal Industries, and Dr. Khaled Shadid, the CEO of Al-Nasr Automotive Company.
Engineer Mohammed Sheimi then conducted a field tour during which he inspected the ongoing development projects at the company, the infrastructure rehabilitation efforts, and the preparation of the sheds to accommodate the new production lines, as well as the equipment supply status. He also reviewed the production process at the Commercial Vehicle Factory and the work undertaken at the factory in terms of updating infrastructure, modernizing equipment, and rehabilitating the workforce.
Engineer Mohammed Sheimi directed that the pace of implementation and achievement of the ongoing projects to revive Al-Nasr Automotive and its esteemed brand be accelerated, as part of the overall strategy to support the national industry, substitute imports, and localize automotive manufacturing technology. He emphasized the need to maximize the proportion of local components in products, adhere to quality standards, develop a marketing plan, strengthen partnerships with the private sector, keep pace with global developments in the automotive industry, and achieve maximum utilization and returns on assets.
